How did the events contribute to the development of Lolita/Narrator in "a shawl for Anita"?
There are several events in the short story "A Shawl for Anita" that contributed to the development of the character of the narrator Lolita, who is the middle child and an older sister to Anita.
Such events include (1) how she esteemed Anita in their young age as mentioned at the beginning of the story. Lolita feels envious on Anita because of how she is highly favored by their mother. (2) When Anita returned to see their mother and eventually asks her to create a shawl for her, it made Lolita hate her sister even more and despise her for her actions. (3) But when she found out Anitas reason for requesting a shawl, it was a turning point for Lolita to finally realized the love and kindness in Anitas heart that she has long misunderstood and have not seen.
